Fretboard Summit 2026!

Our head luthier, Takeo Oka will be attending Fretboard Summit 2026 in Chicago.
He will be displaying OM-18 and Model OT at the show.
This is his first guitar show in USA and he is very excited to show his guitars.

Takeo studied guitar building and repair at Fernandes Guitar School in Tokyo and graduated in 2001 when he was 24.
Upon graduation, he was hired by Hobo’s popular boutique guitar shop in Tokyo and started as a repair employee.
Responsibilities include doing repair work, performing many repairs on vintage guitars and luthier-made guitars, gaining trust from many customers and top professional players.
While he continued performing the repair works, he also became the store manager of Hobo's when he was 28 and was manager of Hobo's until he was 45.
Currently, he is head of the repair department (we have 5 repair employees at our three shops) and one of the directors of our parent company Marky Trading.
In 2015, he started to build his own guitars inspired by 1930’s vintage pre-war Martin guitars: Adirondack spruce top, Vintage Martin bracings, hide glue construction, and lacquer finish-all hand built. No CNC.
His guitars are very popular among our customers. So far, he has sold over 50 guitars and has a back order of ten additional guitars (OM-45, D-45, OM-18, OT Cutaway model).
His guitars have been sold to not only Japanese customers, but also Chinese and American customers.
ホーボーズワークスは楽器の街御茶ノ水において、岡健男と行武学の二人のクラフトマンがそれぞれの作品を手掛けるオリジナルブランド。当店と併設する工房で完全手工製作致しております。
第一弾として1930年代中期のヴィンテージマーティンにインスパイアされたH-18、H-18 Supremeを発表。(「アコースティックギターマガジンVol.72」の”ニューギアーサウンドチェック"にてH-18が紹介されております)。
アコースティックギターマガジン Ｖol.83 「にっぽんのギター工房」にて、ホーボーズワークスを取り上げて頂きました。
その他ダブルオーサイズやOMなども製作致しております。
